Korea Aerospace Research Institute is developing two satellites to detect the dangerous weather and fine dust in its early stages around the Korean peninsula.

The Chollian-2B is expected to be launched in the first half of 2019. It has an environmental payload that can be used to look the flow of fine dust. In addition, Chollian 2A, which has already been assembled ahead of the launch next year, will greatly improve the weather forecast accuracy of the Korea Meteorological Administration.
